Validators

Validators are integral participants in the Hedge Blockchain network, responsible for achieving consensus and maintaining the security and integrity of the distributed ledger. They validate transactions, propose new blocks, and contribute to the network's decision-making process. Validators enhance the security and trustworthiness of the Hedge network. By actively participating in consensus and validating transactions, they ensure that the network remains resilient against malicious attacks and unauthorized activities.

Responsibilities

The Validators in Hedge blockchain have the following responsibilities:

  • Block Proposal: Validators propose new blocks that contain a set of transactions to be added to the blockchain. Proposing blocks requires a thorough understanding of the network's consensus mechanisms and transaction validation processes.

  • Transaction Validation: Validators validate transactions by ensuring they adhere to the network's rules and protocols. This process verifies the legitimacy of transactions, preventing fraudulent or malicious activities.

  • Participation in Consensus: Validators actively participate in achieving consensus through mechanisms such as the CometBFT consensus protocol. Their agreement on the validity of transactions contributes to the network's overall decision-making process.

Perks and Advantages

Being a validator in the Hedge network offers several perks and advantages:

  • Rewards: Validators are rewarded with Hedge tokens for their contributions to the network. These rewards include transaction fees, block rewards, and incentives for maintaining network stability.

  • Network Governance: Validators have a say in the governance of the Hedge network. They can participate in proposing and voting on network upgrades, changes, and improvements.

  • Community Recognition: Validators are recognized as crucial participants in the blockchain ecosystem. Their role contributes to the network's success and security, earning them respect and recognition within the community.
